We are a couple in the UK who had a miscarriage. My wife is a teacher and found that a child had the slapped cheek virus at school. She immediately took sick leave so she wasn't in contact. Unfortunately the damage was already done and went through miscarriage.

We had the doctor undertake blood tests which confirmed she indeed had the virus.

It's unfortunate that the symptons only show once the infection period had past.

I guess we'll know next time and this site was born in order to highlight the dangers and provide information to parents and to pregnant women.
